Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Picturing Disney!

Aloha! Today is Picturing Disney's 1 year anniversary!

Its the end of October and I'm getting a lot of quality blogging done since Hurricane Sandy has brought us 2 emergency days. Even with the bad weather I feel like my cup runneth over.

My Disney writing days started on Disney World forums about 7 years ago.  I wrote up some trip reports and made some Disney friends.  I decided to start a blog so I began a recipe blog called "Confections of a Disney Addict" where I recreated Disney recipes.  But I realized that I had more I wanted to say.  I started writing for a few popular blogs.  I went from random posts to full blown columns that were bringing in some big numbers.  I created a Guide to every Restaurant and Attraction in Walt Disney World that was expanded to Shows and Resorts.  I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. So thrilled that people *cared* what I had to say about Disney World.

I finally realized that the right place for me to blog would be a photoblog!  All the things I like to do could easily fit in. Disney advice and reviews for my friends and followers to enjoy!
Picturing Disney has been a work of heart and art for the last 12 months. I have put so much of myself into the site.

I am still shocked. I feel like the luckiest Disney blogger in the world to I have over 3000 Facebook Fans, almost 1000 Pinterest followers, and a few hundred followers on Twitter and Instragram. We are approaching 100,000 pageviews!! Some days I ask myself "How in the world did I get this lucky to have such amazing readers and to have reached so many people?" For me the answer is that by sharing a little Disney magic every day makes me genuinely HAPPY.  I hope I am making you all happy as well.

Even though two words can not possibly sum up how grateful I am,
Thank You.

I look forward to many more posts, photos, and adventures with each and every one of you.
xoxo Mel

"Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought." -Walt Disney
