Just Keep Swimming...

A fan favorite among those stopping by The Seas is a picture in front of the fabulous Nemo and Friends statue.  <3

The Seas

I love the food at Coral Reef and love the Nemo ride as well.  The Seas is a must stop for us and I love trying to take different angles of the signage.  This one makes me feel like I am going to sail right in on the next wave. :)

I love the approach when you are walking up to the Imagination pavilion.  I know that some people miss the old figment ride but I love this one all the same as it is the only one I have ever seen.  Pictures like this make me wish I was walking up there right now!

Experimental Protocol Community of Tomorrow

I had never been to it when it was called EPCOT Center but I love everything about the way this park was created. So next up on our photo-tour is this fabulous place filled with innovations and inventions.

Magic Kingdom Yet to Come

The best place to leave our photo tour of Magic Kingdom is right here with the future.  Like so many Disney fans I can't wait to see what is in store with the expansion.  Counting down to my next Disney adventure.

Mad, Mad World.

Another great place to take advantage of the low light and no flash is the Mad Tea Party.  You can really capture the movement of the Tea Cups.  Always a favorite picture spot for me, here you can capture the ambiance on your digital camera or phone. :)

PHOTO TIP: In places you want to see motion in your pictures, stand still with a steady hand and make sure your flash is off.  I took this picture with my husband's phone!

Seeing Disney World from different angles brings you right back to the moment.  Here I wanted a picture of the crown from Snow White's Scary Adventures queue.... but it turned out to be a very cute image of Dumbo (& Timothy Mouse).

The most beloved of all is last on our tour.
The best tip here is to take the time to ride Dumbo and take some pictures while you soar high above the magical land.

The People Mover

My favorite.
Nothing more to say.

Keep Moving Forward

I love everything about Tomorrowland from the nostalgia like in 'Meet the Robinsons' to the innovation and imagination.  I can't even count the ways.  And when the sun is shining and the sky is clear the colors just pop like no other area in "the world".

Although a lot of people judge Magic Carpets for being a Dumbo reborn cop-out I love this area.  From Sunshine Seasons to the camel spit its one of my favorite places to enjoy a respite or some people watching.  Remember to always bringing home the places most special to you even if they are mundane to others.

Adventure awaits!

Adventureland may be one of my favorite lands of all.  Pirates is one of my very favorite rides ever and right about now I wish I was snacking on a Dole Whip on my way to plunder and pillage!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

This is a favorite ride of me and my husbands- coast to coast.  What is so great about it is that its not an extreme coaster but not a children's coaster even.  It's fast-passable and at night or when crowds are row riding over and over is one of our favorite things to do! I also love the views of the park you get and the themeing!

PHOTO TIP: If you are comfortable with the ride and with doing so, put that arm strap on and take some on the road pics next time you hit BTMRR or even Everest!

Laughing Place

I love the way colors play off of Splash Mountain and love to take pics on my way there and back! This is one of my all time favorite Disney rides! It combines both a regular boat ride that leads you through an animatronic story with a great thrill ride! And the music is infectious in a good way! This is also the longest ride in Magic Kingdom and you can nab fast passes for it to save time! :)

What's that over there?

I love using icons and queues to make for great photo ops! This is one of my very favorite ideas my husband has ever had for a Disney World pic! <333

Off to Frontierland!

With Brier Rabbit on the look out we could only be headed in one direction!

Liberty Square

Even though I am a history teacher Liberty Square seems to lack appeal to me.  I am not sure why but I will say my favorite attraction here is the fan favorite Haunted Mansion.  The Haunted Mansion was modeled after some New York state architecture from the turn of the 19th century.  I love a little bit of NY in WDW!

Cinderella's Castle

No matter how often I see it I am still in awe. I have 100s of pictures of the castle alone but I just gravitate towards it when taking pictures!

Magic Kingdom's Main Street USA

PHOTO TIP: Pause on your way out, turn off your flash and hold your camera as still as you can while taking a few picture of Main Street lit up at night.

I love this one of my travel party from our most recent trip this Fall!

All Star Movies

The first hotel I ever stayed in was All Star Movies! There is something old and familiar about the icons at the Disney Value hotels.  Great photo ops!

Entrance to Disneyland Park

"Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy."

PHOTO TIP: Taking pictures of signs is one of my favorite things! They are great for scrapbooks, or just for remembering all the Disney touches once you get back home!

G'Day Mate!

PHOTO TIP: Take lots of pics of the animal areas and check them when you get home.  Sure they are moving a lot of time and you will have to trash some of them but you will also get some great ones that will make you feel like you are on the Australian Outback or on an African Safari!

Le sigh.

I love topiaries in Disney.  Especially when they are dressed up for festivities!

Discovery Island

Discovery Island is a wonderful and fun part of this park with something for everyone including attractions, dining, and shopping!

  • Tree of Life! Take some time to walk the Discovery Island trails right in front of the tree since you will find birds, monkeys, and other adorable animals living in habitats here and snap some pics and look for hidden animals in the tree
  • Inside the Tree of Life is the fun 3D attraction "It's Tough to Be a Bug!"
  • Shopping can be found on either side of the walkway when you are walking up to the tree with a nice selection of park and resort merchandise and a nice escape on hot days
  • My favorite place to grab a quick bite in Animal Kingdom is Flame Tree BBQ which you fan find here as well as Pizzafari
  • Also be sure to check the daily times guide for info on Character Meet & Greets here!

Have I mentioned I love the Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios?

This pic is one of those reasons that you should *never* delete pictures before you get home and get to look at them. Sure its blurry (my husband and I played around with turning the flash off while taking pics of the lights) but it is one of my favorite Disney pictures ever.

The last time I was in Disney this time of year was 2006 and even Cinderellabration got in on the decorations!

I just love the holiday season at Disney's Hollywood Studios, don't you?

Happy Thanksgiving

I am so thankful every single day. Hope you guys are all having a great day so far and enjoying the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Here's a pic from the Big Balloon Blow Up!

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

On our first trip to Disney World we came home with over 1000 pictures. At the time I chalked it up to the wonder of it all but now we almost always come home with 100 pictures per day. I think the best anyone can do to get amazing pics in this digital world is to bring a big memory card and keep on snapping!

Some of my favorite pictures are the ones that are unplanned like this one my  husband took of me as we were walking to the castle. The color is so bright and every time I look at it I just want to embark on a new Disney adventure! ♥

Do you remember the first parade you ever saw in a Disney Park?

Our first day we didn't get into the park until about 4pm and slowly walked around in awe until it was time for dinner at Akershus! Afterwards we got our bearings in the dream that is Epcot. The next day was straight to Magic Kingdom and the Share a Dream Come True was the first parade I ever saw in Disney World! No one puts on a show like Disney! ♥

Dapper Dans

I wish the Dapper Dans were out on my sidewalk on Monday mornings crooning sweet acappella as I stumble out the door with my ginormous mug of coffee!!!

A little about me...

This pic was in my signature on the Passporter forums for a LONG time.
I used to always write in Trebuchet font in a color blue very close to stitch's fur as a matter of fact.
And while I'm being completely random my username is almost always myrapunzal which Disney friends always think is a newer Tangled reference but is actually in reference to a song from one of my favorites: Dave Matthews Band.

The first picture.

My first trip was in January 2006.
My first Disney Park was Epcot.
My first pictures ever were of Spaceship Earth.
& I used Photoshop to make this black & white save for the wand decorations (inspired by a pic I saw at Disney so I can't take full credit for the idea).
