Guardians of the Galaxy Review

From the moment Guardians of the Galaxy was introduced at the 2013 D23 Convention in Anaheim, California, needless to say it sparked interest in our household. Not having ever heard of this comic book before, Marvel reassured the audience that this new step into the Marvel Universe would be unforgettable.

And they were right.

Vin Diesel voices Groot, and Dave Bautista as Drax
Without giving too much away **No Spoilers Here**, Guardians of the Galaxy recaptured what a film about intergalactic battles and rivalry are all about. Dare I say, it is reminiscent of the fresh air Star Wars brought into the world back in the 70's. Its almost like you've bumped into some of Hans Solo's colleagues in another universe. Each character is from a completely different walk of life. Yet, somehow, they find a reason to band together. Something else that I wanted to highlight was the use of prosthetics and makeup in this film. I have not seen such sophisticated makeup design in a while. Each species of alien had a distinct trait. However, the differences were simple and elegant.

And lets be honest, its kinda hard to not forget about this crazy crew of bandits when you have the song Hooked On A Feeling stuck in your head. Speaking of which, the soundtrack to this film is phenomenal.  They have two albums available. One has the film's musical score and the other is a collection of songs that can be found on Peter Quill's Awesome Mix Vol. 1. Remember when I talked about Spotify? Well, they have both albums and they are great to listen to on the drive to work, at work, or anywhere really.

The film is full of comedic antics and the heroism Marvel films are known for. Friends who have also seen the movie (and are bonafide Marvel/Comic Fans), have said that this could quite possibly be the BEST film to come out of Marvel Studios.

Check out the trailer and definitely check it out in theaters. This is definitely not one to miss.

OH One Last Thing...... ;)
