DISNEY’S LEADING LADY MINNIE MOUSE
TO CELEBRATE HER 90TH ANNIVERSARY WITH STAR ON THE

HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that Minnie Mouse will be honored with the 2,627th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. PST. The star will be dedicated in front of El Capitan Theatre.

Minnie made her debut in the Disney classic, Steamboat Willie.  She instantly became America’s sweetheart. Minnie has delighted generations of fans with her fun-loving, independent personality and timeless style for decades. Her ability to embody a sense of old Hollywood elegance and grace, combined with her girl-next-door charm established Minnie as one of the most beloved animated characters around the world.

Minnie is a veteran of more than 70 films but she has become just as famous for her sense of fashion. She has served as a muse for designers and has appeared in magazines and runway shows in New York, Tokyo, and Paris. Her classic polka dot look has been reimagined by the fashion industry through the decades and continues to drive current trends. #Rockthedots anyone? From her early pill-box flower hat to her famous bow and ears, Minnie has been looked to for style inspiration from all her fans.

Other Disney characters who have Stars on the Walk of fame include: Donald Duck, Tinker Bell, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Kermit the Frog, and, of course, Mickey Mouse!

  1. It's great that she has is getting her own star, I have to admit that I was a bit surprised that she doesn't have one already. :-)

  3. I also wondered why she does not already have one when so many others do. That said, what a fun opportunity for the media now to experience and share this happy occasion! I wonder how Walt would feel if he were still alive.
