Bringing the Magic Home with Ethan Allen X Disney

If you are like me you get excited any time a Disney collaboration is announced.
The new Ethan Allen Disney Collection is so spectacular that it has me wanting to buy a house to furnish!

The preview items debuted to D23 members in late September and the few items I saw online left me wanting more.  I ran over to Ethan Allen's Design Center at 1010 3rd Avenue in New York City as soon as the entire collection was put on display.  I arrived in the store and was immediately hit with a feast for the eyes!

The collection is everything a Disney fan could want and more.  It has a classic, yet whimsical feel.  You could easily and tastefully furnish your home with a few simple pieces without feeling like you are living in Mickey's play house.

I was in the store only a minute when a delightful and informative Design Consultant named Gale welcomed me.  Gale gave me my very own private tour of the collection.  Thanks to Gale's expertise and keen vision I was able to explore some interesting pieces that I might have passed by in my excitement.

The collection is comprised of investment pieces which may not fit into every budget.
Most items have a higher price point but are made with the legendary quality that Ethan Allen is known for.  That being said, the cutest items in the store might just be the affordable Mickey coasters.  The set retails for $39 and is the perfect gift for every Disney lover you know.

Here are a few more of my favorite pieces which were displayed in sophisticated fashion throughout the store.

I would like to thank Ethan Allen and especially Design Consultant Gale Cooperstein for graciously showing me their fantastic Disney collaboration.

Magical Nights at Aladdin the Musical

Last year, Monique took a last minute trip to New York City for Valentine's Day Weekend, and the following month Melissa received a pre-planned day trip to NYC as a birthday present. We both got to go see Aladdin the Musical on Broadway!

Besides the fact that we almost froze (more about that here), one of the biggest highlights of our trip was a major check off my bucket list. For any of you that might not know, I am a huge Disney Fan. Aladdin is my absolute favorite movie. So much so, it was our wedding theme. ;)
To quote one of the lyrics from the show, "It's the plot that you knew, with a small twist of two, but the changes we made were slight". In this stage version of the 1993 film, our favorite characters have been given a lot more depth. Aladdin recently lost his mother (insert song Proud of Your Boy by the late Howard Ashman) and is trying to become the great man she always dreamed he'd be. Jasmine has a lot more spunk and is a woman who knows her worth. Genie is just WOW, Jafar is as sinister as ever, and, in place of Abu, we get the funny and witty bunch of Babkak, Omar, and Kassim. To put it plainly, it is a show that can't be missed. ;)
I literally sat in awe as the story unfolded and the familiar sounds of Arabian Nights were sung. Each scene so well thought out. ;) Every detail polished to perfection. It was like Agrabah was real. Best Part: The reimagined A Whole New World scene. It was everything I could have ever dreamed (naturally wiping tears of joy while mouthing each syllable to the familiar melody). And of course, we went to the backstage door to nab some photos and autographs from the actors who have literally been with the show since its beginning in Seattle. It was truly a magical night and was a Valentines Day I will never forget!

Another huge fan of the new Disney classic, Aladdin, I was floored when my fiance got us front row tickets to the Broadway musical for my birthday! I had been wanting to see this ever since I feel in love with the Disneyland Aladdin stage show back in 2011 on my first trip to Disneyland. I am a huge fan of Broadway theatre and since my fiance had never been to a show he thoughtfully found something he knew I wanted and secretly saved for amazing seats.

The genie in this show is AMAZING! James Monroe Iglehart stole the whole show! It was phenomenal! And to boot Jonathan Freeman, the OG Jafar from the film voice over was playing Jafar in the play!  What a great cast! Disney really knows how to put together some theater magic and wow your imagination! This play was tremendous. Like Monique, it met all my expectations and more.

Here's a pic of us walking through Times Square with a creepy panhandler dressed as Elsa from my nightmares photobombing us in the background. Enjoy!

Today we are unpacking the new Bambi x LeSportSac line!
In my first ever unboxing video below (which is more like an unbagging) I unpacked the goodies that I was sent thanks to to the ladies at LeSportSac! The attention to detail on these bags is flawless, I am loving the way the bag styles are evolving, and the patterns are perfect for Spring!

New Color by Disney Smartphone/Tablet App!

This week we got to test out the new Color by Disney app on our iPad mini! It was a lot of fun! I love the new style of relaxation or adult or zentangle style coloring books and have gotten to preview both the Moana and Animals books from the Art of Disney Coloring series. This is basically an app that brings these books to your devices. We found it is best used with a stylus and the zoom in feature is a must, but overall it has been great fun! My stepdaughter and I completed the beast picture above taking turns together and I created the Moana picture at the bottom of this post! There is a slight learning curve which can be tough (it was more frustrating for my daughter than for me) but there is nice satisfaction in finishing a drawing (unlike the books that take me hours and hours to finish one page) and the background music in this app is sweetsy and relaxing!

The menu is super easy to use and there are even some free downloads for anyone who downloads and uses the free trial.  It is, however a paid app that requires a subscription. However, if you are into buying the new Art of Disney coloring books this is a welcome addition and a portable way to carry around your coloring for the price of just a little more than two of the coloring books for an entire year subscription.

Here is the info from the official press release:

The Perfect Valentines Gift for a Disney Lovin' Coffee Drinker!

Joffrey's sent us this adorable Valentine's Gift set featuring chocolate covered expresso beans and a pound of Le Cellier ground coffee to try this Valentine's Day!
My fiance and I gave the treats a sneak peak and loved them! I am not much of a coffee drinker myself when we are in the parks but he said this roast was better than any of the ones he had tried in the parks and our hotels the last two summers so it gets two thumbs up here! He loved how you could taste a hint of caramel and I loved the carmel sugar smell when he brewed! The chocolate covered beans were also a delight to both of us!

Order yours on the Joffreys Coffee & Tea website
