We are so excited to watch the premiere of The Descendants on the Disney Channel tonight at 8p!

In case you haven't heard, the Descendants is a music-driven live action movie set in the kingdom of Auradon.  It follows the adolescent offspring of evil Disney villains as they meet children of the good.

Especially exciting is that Emmy award winning Kenny Ortega (of High School Musical fame!) is directing, producing and choreographing the movie.

Disney Dolls

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to preview fantastic new Disney items during the Disney Consumer Products Holiday Showcase in NYC.  I was thrilled to see a bunch of new doll collections front and center.

I love dolls!  I especially love Disney dolls so these beauties had my head spinning!  All I could think of is the damage that my credit cards are going to suffer when these items hit the Disney Store.

I have not even seen the movie yet, but I know that I need every one of these Descendants dolls:

Look at the hair!  LOVE!!

If you love the Animator doll collection as much as I do, you are going to freak out over this complete collection of miniatures!  They are adorable.  Even the hard to come by Kristoff is included!

These Anna & Elsa Twin Animator Dolls are going to delight all Frozen fans!

Will you be adding any of these new dolls to your collection or are there still older ones that you lust after?

Ant-Man Review

To be quite honest, I wasn't expecting very much from Ant-Man, the latest release from Marvel Studios. I have seen some Marvel cartoons featuring the original set of Avengers including Captain America, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp, and Thor, but was never truly impressed by character's powers or personality.

That all ended this weekend.

Without giving too much away about the film, Ant-Man seamlessly blends into the Marvel Universe without blinking an eye. The beginning of the film weaves itself early on into the Avenger storyline as we see some familiar faces arguing about a certain formula called the Pym Partical, which allows an individual to shrink to the size of an insect and potentially becoming a new version of the "Super Soldier".

Flash forward to present day and Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, is leaving prison and trying to make a new life for himself. In an uncanny set of events, Scott finds himself working with Dr. Hank Pym, whom is the creator of the Pym Partical and the original Ant-Man. As the story continues, we are thrown into the exceedingly funny jabs Marvel is now known for and some thrilling action packed scenes.

I'm really excited for what's to come in the Marvel story line as we start getting closer to the release of  Captain America: Civil War (2016). If you haven't already, check out the trailer for Ant-Man below!!

Oh and for all of those true Marvel Fans out there.....make sure to stay until after the credits...I mean all the way. There is something exciting for those who do.

Disney Holiday Gifts for the Kiddos

Disney is coming out with some great gifts that are sure to be on your child's wish list this Holiday season.
I was able to preview these fun items during the Disney Consumer Products Holiday Showcase in NYC last week:

Dress Up:  Disney inspired costumes are going to be huge again this year.
Princess Leia, Darth Vader and Miles from Tomorrowland are all going to be super popular.  The white costume to the left is Baymax but unfortunately they did not have the mask present.  All are available at the Disney Store and DisneyStore.com (pricing varies).

Lego:  Girls are really getting into Lego these days.
Ariel's Under the Sea Palace and Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle are every little girls dream sets!
These sets are currently available at major retailers.

Frozen Fever:
No words necessary.  Elsa's Magical Ice Castle is going to melt the hearts of Elsa fans everywhere.  The castle plays "Let it Go" of course and retails for $129.99 and will be available at mass retailers.  The Elsa doll is sold separately.

This super cute Olaff Plush Bag comes filled with Tsum Tsum!
Anna, Elsa, Sven and a little Snowgie from Frozen Fever are included.
$34.95 exclusive to Disney Store

New Frozen accessories are available now at The Disney Store and are going to fly off the shelves.
Elsa's dress lights up ($49.99)!  This is available starting July 6th.

The wig is amazing ($19.99)!

For $12.95 every girl can feel like a princess with her own Elsa wand.

Miles from Tomorrowland Stellosphere:  Retailing for $49.99 the Stellosphere spaceship includes a Mini Star Jetter and a Zip Ship.  A Cross Vehicle Rocket system attaches to all three ships enables fun lights and sounds.  This becomes available in July and I am going to get it early!

I can't wait to show you what else Disney has up their sleeves for the gift giving season.   As they say, I'm saving the best for last so be on the look out for my next post!

The best way to celebrate 40

I turned 40 and the best way I could think to celebrate was a girls' weekend at Walt Disney World. We stayed at Pop Century. We were able to get to our rooms early at 12:30pm. I was a given celebrating buttons!

We hopped into our Disney Limo, aka Walt Disney World Resort Bus Transportation, to EPCOT right away. After we stopped to take pictures in front of Spaceship Earth, we headed for the World Showcase. One of my friends thought it would be fun to take a silly picture in ever country with a silly hat.

We started in Mexico. We grabbed a drink, some chips and guacamole at La Cave de Tequila bar wearing huge sombreros. My 14 year-old son was sad I didn't bring a sombrero home for him, silly kid.

We stopped for a Viking picture with a Troll in Norway and even stopped for a picture with bamboo hats in China. We got grapefruit beer and pretzels in Germany, of which I felt very proud to be paying homage to my German roots. We stopped in Italy  and enjoyed our drinks by the fountain. We headed to The American Adventure and found scarves and sweaters that looked like the flag of our great country.

While we were enjoying getting drinks in the bar in Morocco, one of the girls spotted henna tattoo artists. So we all picked out a design and got painted, which was very fun. The Cast Members doing our artwork were very sweet. We moved on to China and I had my first sake! The best drink of the night came from France, a Grey Goose Vodka Grand Marnier Slush.

We went to England and had some hard ciders with fish and chips. We made a picnic on a corner and enjoyed ourselves in spite of guests probably thinking we were a bit nuts for having a picnic in the middle of EPCOT. Finally, we went to Canada for one last picture before finding a spot to watch Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. We stopped by Spaceship Earth for a last round of pictures before heading back to the Pop Century Resort.

The next day we experienced the Rollicking Raglan Brunch at Ragland Road before heading back home. Most of us loved the food and drinks there and especially enjoyed the Irish band and performers.

Turning 40 wasn't as hard as I thought it would be thanks to this great weekend. :)
