The Wind Rises Review

Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki have been always known for its beautifully, detailed films. The delicate attention brought to each character is uniquely exquisite. The environments that are imagined for the films have a sense of familiarity and wonder to them. The Wind Rises is a film that highlights the dreams and aspirations of Jiro Horikoshi (voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) to become the world’s most innovative and accomplished airplane designers.

Frankly, I went into this film with very low expectations. I had seen one preview and it seemed as though it was going to be a film I would not enjoy. My attitude changed after the first five minutes. Having already been a fan of Spirited Away (if you have not seen this film, I encourage you to make time to watch it), the attention to detail and high powered graphics were amazing. The story grabs hold and whisks you to an imaginative dream of sorts.

I would recommend The Wind Rises to anyone who is looking for something different to watch. The story and message it tells is unforgettable and breathe taking.
